A decent refresher but the delivery was little more than the presenter reading from the PowerPoint, especially at the beginning. The information about the IEP seemed scattered and w/o a clear flow as parent/educator roles & required IEP members should have been included before information about the order of the meeting itself. Additionally, the information shared about the child-first language failed to mention that many in deaf & autistic communities prefer to NOT use person-first language.

The feedback I would give is that an IFSP is not infancy to 2 years, its infancy to 3 years of age. I am an SLP for first steps. Their authorization period ends on the IFSP when they turn three.

This was a good refresher on the fundamentals of IEP/IFSP which is critical to EI or work in schools as an SLP. I could also see this being very useful to grad students, interns, clinical fellows, and SLPs new to the schools.

The title of this course is a misnomer. While it provided helpful "Back to Basics" information regarding the IEP and general IEP process, it did not cover the IFSP and general IFSP process as the course title would have implied. Overall, the content was helpful for an provider who participates in the IEP process.

I have experience working in the schools as an slp, developing IEPs so I was hoping for more information on IFSP development as I will be switching to EI. I also feel some of the information would've been more helpful if it were specific to SLPs as we are often the case manager of students with a SLI as a primary disability.
