Dark Chocolate — We love using dark chocolate for this. Be sure to cut down the chocolate so that it melts easier and evenly.

Almonds — Make sure you aren’t grabbing salted and roasted almonds! They’ll come out too salty if you do.

Toppings — We top these dark chocolate covered almonds with orange zest, hemp seeds, fleur de sel, and chili powder but feel free to change it up!

Expert Tips

The toppings I picked give my almonds an extra nutritious edge as with a sprinkle of hemp hearts on top, it helps boost the treat with some fibre, protein, and healthy omega 3 fats. You are welcomed to change the toppings to something else if you wish. Other suggests include: crushed freeze-dried raspberriesorstrawberries,, cocoa powder, flavoured collagen powder, and more!

If you prefer to melt your chocolate in the microwave, you can do so by placing the chocolate in the microwave for 20-25 seconds. Remove the bowl from the microwave and gently give it a stir. Microwave the bowl for another 20 seconds and repeat. Microwave one more time for about 15 seconds and stir.

The almonds can be swapped for a different nut of your choice if you desire.
