Ingredients
- 12 oz. 350 g smoked salmon
- 4 tbsp 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 cups (2 oz.) 475 ml (60 g) baby spinach
- 1 tbsp 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ ½ limelimes
- salt and pepper

Making low carb simple
Instructions
Put salmon, spinach, a wedge of lime, and a hearty dollop of mayonnaise on a plate.
Drizzle olive oil over the spinach, and squeeze the lime over the platter. Season with salt and pepper.
Tips!
Add fresh herbs or lime zest to the mayonnaise for extra flavor.
Capers would be a delicious low carb addition to this platter.

I don't like mayonnaise, what can I substitute that with? Or can I just exclude it all together?

The mayo is there to help add fat. You can also use sour cream or cream cheese if you'd prefer either of those.

I have never found a brand of smoked salmon that is made without sugar, and yet it is used all the time in keto recipes. Can someone provide a brand, or perhaps an explanation? Bacon falls into a similar category: so many bacon recipes, yet never is it recommended to seek out a brand made without sugar (Nieman's Appkewood Smoked Bacon is sugar-free, but sooo expensive). My sugar addiction is triggered by both of these meats because even with less than 1g carbs per serving, the sugar is present and tasteable. Why is there no conversation about this? Thanks for any insights...

Yes, canned salmon is allowed. It is not a good sub for this smoked salmon though, just to clarify.

175g of salmon in one go would have been way too much, I opted to only put in 120g, a whole packet. + The mayo it was a wise decision, I am stuffed

Yes, generally, but there is some flexibility if you want more or less. The mayo/cream cheese bring healthy fats to the plate.

I loved the flavours but 170gm salmon is way too much in one serve. I used about 120gm.
