Abstract

pestisida alami. Urban farming dalam penerapannya memiliki beberapa jenis yaitu
vertikultur, hidroponik, aquaponik, dan wall gardening

English Abstract: The extent of land in urban areas does not help in agriculture because will be allocated in city building. Every year, vacant land for farming activities have declined due to the large impact of the buildings city. This causes the number of farmers in Indonesia to decrease as a result loss of agricultural land. However, we must look at these problems by presenting new solutions. Urban farming is an agricultural technique in urban and can be used as a solution to these problems. Urban farming is an agricultural technique that is suitable to be applied in the area urban. Make use of an existing area and does not require a large area is one of the uniqueness of this agricultural concept. Urban use farming is actually a lot in big cities abroad, but in Indonesia itself is still few and many do not know agricultural techniques this. Urban farming is suitable for planting various types of vegetables such as mustard greens, broccoli, lettuce, onions, carrots, potatoes and all kinds of vegetables available. Urban farming can not only be applied by farmers but also the people who live in urban areas. The quality of freshness is the value more of this farming technique because it is planted at home and directly picked to be processed into food ingredients. Of course, the use of organic materials in the process of urban farming activities it is very necessary because it maintains quality production to be safe for consumption, for example in the use of organic fertilizers and natural pesticides. In its application, urban farming has several types, namely verticulture, hydroponics, aquaponics, and wall gardening.
